The fine print that matters
The concession applies to one vehicle registered in the card holder's name for private use, the discount halves the registration component only (CTP and the traffic improvement fee are unchanged), and eligibility is re-checked against Centrelink/DVA records. Apply once through TMR — online, on 13 23 80 or at a service centre — and renewals price automatically at the concession rate.

Who qualifies for rego concession in QLD?
Holders of an eligible Pensioner Concession Card, Queensland Seniors Card, or certain DVA cards can receive concessional registration on one vehicle they own and use. Eligibility rules are set by TMR and verified when you apply.
How much is the discount?
The registration component is roughly halved — for a 4-cylinder car it drops from $385.45 to $192.75 per year. The traffic improvement fee still applies and CTP premiums are not discounted.
Is CTP cheaper with a concession card?
No. CTP insurance premiums are set by insurers within MAIC limits and TMR concessions do not reduce them.
How do I apply?
Apply through TMR when registering or renewing — online, by phone or at a customer service centre — with your concession card details. Once recorded, the concession applies automatically to future renewals while you remain eligible.
